Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council

The Audit Commission’s CPA results are the annual benchmark of performance of local authority services. In acknowledgement of Capita’s service, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council received a 4-star Excellent rating in 2005 for the Council as a whole and their benefits service in particular. This is particularly notable as Blackburn with Darwen has one of the most diverse populations in the UK, creating more challenges to deliver excellent services. To achieve excellence in the benefit service required:

• The development and maintenance of fraud prevention
• Detection and prosecution
• The provision of a value for money service delivered by skilled staff.
